Privacy Policy

Trifunk is a design and web studio in Toronto, operated by Trifunk Media Inc., an Ontario corporation. This policy covers trifunk.com.

It is short, because the site is nine pages with one form on it. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to buy, no account to create, and no advertising tracking anywhere on it.

What we collect

If you use the contact form. Your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, and your message. The phone field is optional and the form works without it.

Automatically, when you visit. Which pages you look at, the page that referred you, the approximate region the visit came from, and your browser and device type. This comes from Google Analytics.

That is the whole list. The site has no login, takes no payments, asks for no documents, and has no mailing list to join.

What we do with it

Your message gets read and answered, usually within a day or two. If you are enquiring about work, it becomes the start of that conversation. It is not used for anything else, and you will not be added to any list because you wrote to us.

The analytics tell us which services people actually read about and where visitors come from, so we can make the site better. None of it is used to build profiles of visitors or to target advertising.

Under Canadian privacy law, your consent is what permits this. You give it by choosing to write to us, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Who else handles it

These providers are in the United States, which means your information is stored outside Canada and is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access requests by US authorities. Ask at ariel@trifunk.com if you want more detail about any of them.

Nothing is sold, nothing is rented, and nothing is shared with anyone for their own marketing.

No advertising tracking

There is no Meta pixel on this site, no Google Ads conversion tag, no LinkedIn tracking, and no retargeting of any kind. Reading about our services here does not follow you anywhere else.

About the work we do for clients

Trifunk builds and maintains websites for other organisations. Those sites are run by those organisations and have their own privacy policies, which govern what they collect. This policy covers trifunk.com and nothing else.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies so that repeat visits can be told apart. There are no advertising cookies and no cookie banner.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out extension at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout that turns off Google Analytics entirely. Neither breaks anything on the site.

How long we keep it

Messages sent through the contact form stay in our email after they are answered, because a past enquiry is often the context for a later one. If you would rather yours was not kept, say so and it will be deleted.

Google Analytics keeps its data for the period set on the analytics property and deletes it automatically after that.

Your choices

Asking what we hold about you. Write to ariel@trifunk.com and you will be told. For nearly everyone it is a single contact form message and nothing else. You will get an answer within thirty days.

Correcting it. Tell us what is wrong and it will be fixed.

Deleting it. Ask and it will be deleted.

Complaining. If you are not satisfied with how a request was handled, you can bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at https://www.priv.gc.ca or by calling 1-800-282-1376.

Children

This site is for people looking to hire a design studio. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen.

Security

The site holds almost nothing, which is the best protection available to it. What it does hold sits with established providers behind their own access controls, and the site is served over HTTPS throughout. No site can promise that nothing will ever go wrong. If a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm, the people affected and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada would be notified as soon as feasible.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date at the top changes and the new version is posted here.
